The official name is Gávea beach and it starts in the end of Niemeyer Avenue, extending over three kilometers until São Conrado tunnel. The main characteristic of the beach is the hang gliding and paragliders, on the right. This beach started a remediation project in 2002. White sand and soft, strong waves, ideal to surf practicing.

The commercialization of double flights of hang gliding in the aero clubs in Rio is prohibited. The legislation allows the activity only for recreational and learning purposes, being released only as instruction to the practitioners of this sport.
