PRAIA DE COPACABANA

The Beach of Copacabana, also known as the little “Princess of the Sea” with its almost four kilometers of extension, starts at the height of Forte do Leme and ends at Forte of Copacabana. This is one of the  most beautiful beaches in the world! With its incredible blue sea, its clear and fine sand, its winding sidewalk, she is the famous Carioca postcard. It is also the stage of the biggest Réveillon of the planet! The seafront is divided into posts, which makes it easier to get oriented and match with friends and enjoy the” beach of the day”.For all its extension several outdoor activities may be found, as altinha, footvolley, volleyball, beach tennis, swimming, stand up-paddle and rowing.The food options are numerous.It is possible to find several restaurants and kiosks that offer an incredible gastronomic experience.for all tastes and pockets. Don´t miss the famous lemon mate and the Globo cookie while putting your foot in the sand!


PRAIA DO LEME

Leme Beach is famous for its Pedra do Leme ( Leme Stone), a large rock covered with Atlantic forest and crowned  by the colonial Fort Duque de Caxias with a history museum and breathtaking views of the coast. From here a path goes down to Praia do Leme –  a wide strip of sand famous among surfers, fishermen and local families. 

It is close to the famous Copacabana Beach, but a little more quiet, although its beauty leaves nothing to be desired. Its sidewalk offers several foot on the sand kiosks, but the district also offers a wide variety of restaurants( the gastronomic pole of Leme is for sure a separate attraction). The place became known by the iconic verses of Tim Maia: “Do Leme ao Pontal’( From Leme to Pontal)


PRAIA VERMELHA

Located in Urca district, it is framed by the emblematic Sugar Loaf.The Red Beach sea is calm and its waters of a greenish tone bring an air of peace to the place and tranquility for cariocas and tourists.Its name is derived from the reddish tone of its sands. Due to its beauty, it is a great point for taking photos.But also it is perfect for stand-up lovers, kayak, canoe and other water sports who are always around.

Between the constant coming and going of the cable-cars and Morro da Babilonia, this beach, even though a small one, is perfect to enjoy with family and friends. Beyond the cable car, there is also the Naval Warfare School of Command and Staff of the Army, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Military Engineering Institute. At its end. the Red Beach Military Circle.


PRAIA DO FLAMENGO

Flamengo beach is a great tour in the region, with a beautiful view of Guanabara Bay, Sugar Loaf and other tourist attractions. It is close to the city center and the ideal location to take good souvenir photos of Rio.Both its sand and surroundings are excellent spaces to perform several physical activities or to simply enjoy nature.


PRAIA DO ARPOADOR E PRAIA DO DIABO

A mandatory stop is to visit Arpoador Beach, where the famous Rock of Arpoador, which is one of the most beautiful and known places to watch the sunset with a marvelous view of Two Brothers Hill. It is an ideal point for surf lovers.. On the other side of Pedra do Arpoador there is a little beach with a beautiful view of the sea, Praia do Diabo is an excellent option for those who aim to escape the agitation of Ipanema. There you can get a good tan, do physical activity and take photos of Dois Irmãos Hill.


PRAIA DE IPANEMA

The very beautiful Ipanema Beach is undoubtedly one the mandatory attractions that every tourist must visit in Rio de Janeiro. The beach owes its fame to the worldwide famous song “Girl from Ipanema”  from 1962, the result of the partnership between  Vinicius de Moraes and Tom Jobim. The song, is a tribute to Helô Pinheiro, and is considered one of the greatest classics of Popular Brazilian Music and became the Bossa Nova anthem,

Ipanema, besides being one of the main attractions of the city, also  neighboring other attractions as Copacabana Beach and Leblon Beach. Founded in 1894 by José Antonio de Moreira,the Count of Ipanema, nowadays an elegant residential neighborhood. Its elegant beach has numerous attractions such as bars, restaurants and craft fairs and you also guarantee breathtaking photos. A valuable tip: Don´t miss the sunset on the Beach of Arpoador – this is certainly one of the most emotional experiences.After the sun goes down everyone applauds… Simply magical!


PRAIA DO LEBLON

The Beach of Leblon known as the continuation of Ipanema has an extension of approximately 1km and is very popular by cariocas and tourists. It begins in Jardim de Alah and goes to the cliffs of Niemeyer Avenue. Its long sand strip is ideal for getting a good tan, playing sports like volleyball, football and beach tennis, and when the sea is rough, also to surf.” In order to appreciate an incredible view of the waterfront of Leblon and Ipanema, our tip is that you get to the gazebo located on a corner of the beach, in Niemeyer Avenue.


PRAIA DO VIDIGAL

The Beach of Vidigal is located between Leblon and São Conrado, at the feet of  Dois Irmãos Hill, the little band of sand surprises tourists and cariocas alike with an incredible visual!The beach is considered by many a secret of the city for being around 400 meters!’Despite its size, it is a real charm and worth the walk!


PRAIA DE SÃO CONRADO

Formerly called Beach of Gavea, the beach of São Conrado nowadays has approximately 1 km of extension, starting at the end of Niemeyer Avenue and extending until the Tunnel of São Conrado. She is characterized by its fine, clear and soft sand and by the strong waves much appreciated by the surfers of the area. It is a great place to lay your towel on the sand and spend a day of sun and sea. On the beach of São Conrado, the landing of paragliders and hang gliders takes place.The ramp for free flight practice is at Pedra Bonita.


PRAIA DA JOATINGA

Located in the west zone of Rio, in the district of Joá, the Beach of Joatinga is only 300 meters long. Despite its size, the beach attracts  because of its natural beauties. For those who seek tranquility and little movement, Joatinga is among the best beach carioca options, It is also ideal for the practice of water sports as bodyboard and kitesurf. To access this beach, it is necessary to cross a gated community on Estrada do Joá.. After the crossing, there is a small stone path, a perfect backdrop for travel photos. It is important always to check the sea tide to know the possibility of swimming in the sea!


PRAIA DA BARRA DA TIJUCA

Barra da Tijuca Beach is the largest in Rio de Janeiro. With approximately 18km, it has a stunning view, besides being an area of environmental preservation, where it is possible to make an incredible tour of the Reserve of Marapendi. In summer, the beach offers a little bit of everything.Various sports being practiced in the sea and on the sand, freshwater, tents and chairs for rent and several kiosks with music, good food and cold drinks. During the year sea conditions vary, having days more prone to bathing and others only for the practice of surf.and the sand is always inviting because the surf occurs far away leaving a lot of space to be enjoyed. The beach has extensive security, with 12 lifeguard stations, however it is always good to be careful and check sea conditions before using it.On the busiest days, red flags signal about danger. When it occurs, besides enjoying the sand, a good option is to walk on the sidewalk watching the movement and enjoying the  view. Tired? The number of existing  kiosks may be an excellent refuge to rest and drink a cold coconut water.


PRAIA DA RESERVA

Reserva Beach is located between Barra Beach and Recreio Beach. For surf lovers, the Beach is perfect for high waves.It´s also  a perfect spot for those who like to enjoy the sun in high style. It is a quiet beach with several kiosks and tents on its edge.Reserva is 8 km long and one of the largest beaches in Rio. Reserva Beach is also known as Reserva Beach of Marapendi, because it is located around the Lagoon of Marapendi, which is very used to practice sports like canoeing, sailing and rowing.


PRAIA DO RECREIO DOS BANDEIRANTES

Recreio Beach, in the district of Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the west zone of the city, is a quiet beach, perfect to drink some cold coconut water! Its is located after Reserva Beach and is known as local attraction and headquarters of surf and bodyboard international tournaments. Its waters are clear and the sand light and fluffy, giving the deserved fame of one of the most beautiful beaches of the region, Besides the beach you will find Pedra do Pontal( Pontal Rock) with its beauty and incr edible view and due to the famous song by Tim Maia( From Leme to Ponta), Pedra do Pontal is one of the favorite places of tourists and cariocas in Recreio. Its nature and location provide an ideal Instagram backdrop for incredible photos.From the top you can appreciate several postcards of Rio, such as Pedra da Gávea, Pedra Bonita, Tijuca Forest, Palmas Island and Echologic Park Chico Mendes.


PRAINHA

Located in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, living up to its name, Prainha is 700 m long, and is perfect for surf lovers. The place mixes high and medium waves making it a favorite environment  practice this sport.The space belongs to the Municipal Natural Park of Prainha an area of 147acres, It is famous for its clean waters an the long stretch of cute sand.The quiet climate  allows to escape the urban agitation, making it ideal to rest without having to go far from the central areas of the city.


PRAIA DE GRUMARI

Grumari Beach is one of those dream beaches! Its access is done almost exclusively by car and it is not well known by tourists. Here you can enjoy peace and tranquility, immerse yourself in nature surrounded by hills and the deep green of the Atlantic Forest. Grumari Beach makes you feel in a wild beach – the visual is marvelous! Just like its neighbor Prainha it also makes part of a nature reserve.That´s why nobody is living nearby, but Guaratiba Village is very close. Along the beach there are some kiosks and we highly recommend a visit after the beach to try one of the many tasty seafood restaurants of the region!


PRAIA DE GUARATIBA

Along the trail of the region, you come across with incredible and totally deserted beaches, known as Wild Beaches of Rio de Janeiro.examples: Perigoso, do Meio, Funda and Inferno. To reach Perigoso Beach it´s about 50 minutes walk and until Inferno Beach( the last one), around 3 hours walk. To do the trails,the use of sunscreen is recommended, light clothes, much water and be accompanied by a guide. It is also recommended to be part of a group due to the social isolation.
