From the top of a 69 meters high hill, we see the iconic Church of Our Lady of Penha, whose origin refers to the year of 1635. Famous for its 382 steps of its main staircase, the Church welcomes pilgrims coming from all over Brazil and from abroad, expressing their gratitude, climbing on foot and on their knees, thanking for the graces achieved. The traditional festivity dedicated to the Patron Saint, of great cultural and religious importance for cariocas and visitors alike, occurs during the month of october.
