With the support of the European Union, the pilot project is an initiative of the Circular Plastics in the Americas Program, the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, Riotur, and Orla Rio, in addition to partners from the public and private sectors.

Through actions, training, and extensive information, the project will involve the entire beach ecosystem, including hotels, businesses, kiosks, and stalls.

The mission of Praia Circular is to reduce the consumption of single-use plastics and improve the management of these wastes so that they can circulate in the economy for a longer period until they are recycled.

In Copacabana at Posts 3 and 4, we have already installed bulk water machines where people can buy half a liter of filtered and chilled water for just one real. Simply bring a reusable bottle or cup.
