31Around the end of the 50s, musicians gathered weekly on the same dead end lane in Copacabana to have some drinks and try to play on the stage of one of the most crowded show houses in the alley. The neighbors, enraged by the noise, tossed bottles to try and contain the frolic of the Bohemians. That’s how it got its name: Beco das Garrafas (Alley of the Bottles). Elis Regina, Wilson Simonal, Jorge Ben, Edu Lobo, Baden Powell, as well as producers Luis Carlos Miele and Ronaldo Bôscoli have been there. After a major reformation, Beco das Garrafas was rediscovered after being abandoned for so many years. The alley has changed, but the essence of the place is still the same: to give opportunity for new talents to perform every day. And of course, host beautiful shows from the big stars of Brazilian music, highlighting the presentations that emphasize the rhythm that reflects the house: the Bossa Nova.
