The setting for the event that became known as “The Last Ball of the Empire”, held a few days before the Proclamation of the Republic, Ilha Fiscal continues to be a link between the present and the past. The specialized guides who accompany the visiting groups, in addition to showing the halls, the turret and the permanent exhibitions in the space, explain a little of the Navy’s contributions to the country’s development. The trip to the island is carried out with the schooner Nogueira da Gama and lasts about 10 minutes, in case of bad weather the trip is made by van. You can also visit the Ship Bauru that participated in World War II moored at the pier, as well as the Submarine Riachuelo. The visitation of both vessels is made from Wednesday to Sunday, from 12:00 to 17:00. On Tuesdays, visitation is free.
