Barra da Tijuca beach is the biggest beach of Rio de Janeiro, with 14, 4 km of length. The greenish and clear waters extend along the Lucio Costa Avenue until Recreio dos Bandeirantes. In the beginning is Barraca do Pepê, the most famous juice kiosk and sandwiches of the city and meeting place to the youth who live in the neighborhood. Ideal beach to practice surf, windsurf, bodyboarding and fishing. Still have a lot of bars, restaurants and kiosks, nocturne illumination and bike path. From AyrtonSenna Avenue, the beach doesn’t allow boardwalk for being an environmental protection area. Nearby, there’s the Biological Reserve Marapendi.
