Artisanal burgers are a real hit among the cariocas. The Ex-Touro is both a meat boutique and a burger joint, and is located in one of the mains streets of the Centro de Abastecimento do Estado da Guanabara (State of Guanabara Supply Center), the CADEG, where restaurant owners and housewives go to stock their pantries with all sorts of fruits, vegetables and fresh food. It is definitely worth to walk around CADEG before stopping at Ex-Touro to taste their delicious meat. You should order the burger named after the restaurant, and treat yourself to 200g of a mixture of beef and pork meat, prato cheese, bacon mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato, all in between slices of beer bread. You can also order one of the house’s prime meat cuts that are grilled and served at the table with farofa and rustic potatoes.
