The complex is made up of the Roberto Silveira Memorial, which holds an ample collection on the history of the state, with over 200 thousand digitalized documents, an auditorium for hosting events and a panel by artist Claudio Valério Teixeira; the Museu da Ciência e Criatividade – Escola do Conhecimento was built over a water surface and hosts exhibitions and cultural events; the building of the Teatro Popular Oscar Niemeyer has a shape that resembles waves and has a structure for outdoor concerts that can hold up to 10 thousand people. Important names of Brazilian music, like Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso and Luiz Melodia have performed there.
The path continues on Praça Juscelino Kubitschek (JK) Square, where you can find statues of Oscar Niemeyer and of the former president of Brazil, Juscelino Kubitschek. A short walk take us to Centro Petrobras de Cinema, the structure of which resembles a film roll. The building will house screening rooms and the Museu do Cinema (Museum of Cinema). The path ends at the Contemporary Art Museum (MAC). A symbol of Niterói, MAC is known for its futuristic architecture, which resembles a flying saucer. The external ramp made of red concrete takes visitors to the main exhibition room, where the works of art share the space with a circular glass balcony overlooking the Guanabara Bay.
