Rio de Janeiro is the first city in the world to get the first yoo2 hotel, a project from the Londoner design studio run by John Hitchcox and the awarded architect Philippe Starck. A partnership with the hotel chain Intercity, the development opens this month on the Botafogo beach, facing the Guanabara Bay, and with a view of the Sugarloaf and Christ the Redeemer. The luxury accommodation with a modern and cool design promises the travelers a unique experience in its 143 apartments, rooftop with bar and swimming pool, and a restaurant led by the famous Southern chef Marcelo Schambeck. When they get there, the guests find a straightforward check-in, with no lines. It’s all done informally on an iPad. The elevator surprises the guests with an artwork by the carioca graffiti artist Marcelo Ment.
