Renascença Club was founded in February 17th, 1951, as a group whereby black families could meet and have fun in a harmonious social and cultural coexistence.

Resistance space, valorization and rescue of the traditional culture, Renascença Club is located in Andaraí, one of the oldest neighborhood of the city. Kindly known as Rena, the entity has a familiar profile, where kids, young, adults and seniors share a programming that privileges the most diverse cultural expressions: samba, theater, capoeira, cine, ballet, dancing lunches and kid’s parties.

With space for more than a thousand people, Renascença Club also receives groups to the realization of the social and sport events in the area (court, barbecue grill, mezzanine, carambola and balcony).

Every Monday happens the Worker samba, one of the most classic and important samba time of the city, it attracts people from everywhere in Rio de Janeiro. Starting at 4:00 PM, the event is essential for those who want to live the traditional samba culture in the purest way.
