The paved path – also known as Bem-te-vi way and Costão road – have the entrance on the end of Praia vermelha beach and have 1,25km of extension. During the route, the visitant surrounded by the sea of a side and for the Urca hill green on the other side, where you can observe native trees like pau-Brasil and figueiras. Wild animals also can be seen with frequency like marmosets and Tiê-sangue birds, Mata Atlância symbol.
The place is essential to walk, knowing it’s prohibited to use bikes, skate and roller skates.

The road also calls the attention for those who love adventure. The entrance to the famous trail of the Urca hill lies along the track to the left. The trail easy and not long – estimated time is 40 minutes -, but a little steep. Arriving at Urca hill, the adventurer has the option to buy tickets to go up to Sugar loaf or go down to Praia Vermelha; if prefers, also can go down through the trail. The way makes part of the Natural Monument of the Sugar loaf and Urca hills.
