The Cultural Centre Parque das Ruínas was the house of a big Maecenas of Belle Époque carioca, Laurinda Santos Lobo. Known as the “marechala da elegância”, Laurinda used to meet intellectuals and artists on the magnificent premises of the palace, that today uis one of the most beautiful winning projects of the architect Ernani Freire and house experimental works of art.
