Anyone who’s visited the beaches of Ipanema, Leblon and Arpoador has certainly noted the presence of islands on the horizon. The Cagarras
archipelago, or just Cagarras, is made up of seven islands located five kilometers to the south of the Ipanema beach, and they are the destination of
the tour “Velejar é Preciso”. The sailboat tour lasts six hours and they offers boats with capacity for 8, 16, 24, or 32 people.
The route includes: Urca Beach, Sugarloaf Mountain, São João Fort, Forte da Laje Island, Canal de Navegação, Vermelha Beach, Cotunduba Island, Copacabana Beach, Ponta do Arpoador, Cagarras Island, Ponta do Leme. There is a stop made near the Cagarras Island for those who want to freshen up and take a swim.
