Aterro do Flamengo is known for being one of the biggest recreation complex of the city: the place is ideal to who wants to enjoy a sunny day and do open air activities. The area – that goes from Santos Dumont airport, in Downtown, until the beginning of Botafogo beach, going through Gloria and Flamengo neighborhood – is quite popular on the weekends to sport practicing like walking, run, cycling, skate, roll skate and others.

In the area known as Parque Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes, at Glória, the public can enjoy soccer, tennis, volleyball and basketball fields, in addition to check the projected gardens by Roberto Burle Mar. The landfill routes stay closed on Sundays from 7am to 6pm, as Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon edges.
